Membership of the poultry association of Nigeria will be confined to Subsidiary and Associate members.

a. Subsidiary

i. Chick producers' organization.

ii. Poultry meat producers' organization (Broiler, Turkey producers, Guinea fowl, ostrich, Ducks and Geese).

iii. Egg producer's organization.

iv. Feed millers organization.

v. Poultry input suppliers and service organization.

vi. The subsidiaries above will make up the Poultry Association meetings, on of Nigeria, each with full autonomy regarding it's particular interests, but subject to the powers of the Executive Council and subject to the authority of the Poultry Association of Nigeria.


b. Associate members

i. All organizations in government, autonomous institutions like universities and institutes / associations connected with poultry and or related activities shall be eligible to become associate members on payment of fees as may be prescribed by the governing council from time to time.

ii. Firms/companies/Associations may be registered as associate members in their respective names, but only one representative are permitted on behalf, of each association member, to attend the meetings, Associate members are not eligible to vote at any meeting or to contest for any office of the Poultry Association of Nigeria.

iii. Associate members shall be accorded certain privileges as determined by the Executive Council from time to time. such as:

  • Appointment into relevant sub-committees.
  • Free exhibition of wares at association's event and during annual general meeting.



iv. Register of Members

These shall be prepared and kept at the Secretariat of the Association , a Register titled "the register of members of the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN)", and containing in respect of each member, the name, address, nature of business and any other relevant information as contained in the prescribed Registration Form of PAN (Appendix A).


v. Rights and Privileges of Members

  • Every member shall be issued with a certificate of membership.
  • The Association shall pay the expenses necessarily and legitimately incurred by any member delegated by the Association to represent it in any member delegated by the Association to represent it in any suit or dispute.
  • A member of the Association may be represented by a nominee at meetings of State Branches of the Association.
  • A member whose financial obligations to the Association are fully discharged shall be eligible to vote and to stand for an election to any State Office of the Association; he shall also be entitled to all the facilities and privileges offered by the Association.


vi. Obligations of Members

  • Every member shall be bound to further, to the best of his or her ability, the objectives, interests and influence of the Association and shall observe all the bye-laws and decisions of the Association made pursuant to the powers in that behalf hereinafter contained.
  • Every member of the Association undertakes to contribute to the assets of the Association, in the event of the same being wound up while he is a member of within one year after he ceases to be a member for payment of the debts and liabilities of the Association contracted before he ceases to be a member, and of costs, charges and expenses of the winding up and for the adjustments of the rights of the contributories among themselves, such amount as may be contributories among themselves, such amount as may be required and not exceeding one year's subscription.
